NEM Philippines goes to Far Eastern University
On October 7th 2017, NEM Philippines went to Far Eastern University Makati which is one of the biggest and popular universities in the Philippines to propagate the knowledge and the potential of Bitcoin, Blockchain Technology and the NEM Blockchain. This is the 1st University talk of the NEM Blockchain in the Philippines.
NEM Philippines shared their invaluable knowledge to the 1st MBA Business and Research Forum event that was held at the mini-theater of the Far Eastern University in Makati City. The said event was composed of 70 attendees ranging from 24 to 60 years old, professors, faculties, MBA students and all professionals.
The event was led by Ms. Cherrie Mae Perillio who is the current MBA Coordinator and Assistant of the University. The talk was initiated by Mr. Exequiel Cabanda, a Phd Research Fellow of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and Dr. Michael Leocadio, who is a Research Director of Emilio Aguinaldo College, where they both talked about how to conduct a good, systematic and effective way of doing a research.
Propelling Education about NEM in South East Asia
The third speaker is Mr. Emerson Fonseca who is the NEM Philippines Head. He talked about the introduction of Bitcoin and the Blockchain Technology which provided the guests of the idea how powerful and revolutionary the Blockchain Technology is. He also explained the many use cases of the Blockchain Technology in the overall industry and how the MBA students can make use of it for their research studies. Last speaker is Mr. Benjie Amores the NEM Philippines Consultant where he discussed the principles and real use cases of the NEM Blockchain.
Furthermore he also cited real-life examples and advantages of using the NEM Blockchain as a remittance, a legitimate notarization system, as a bank account, etc., and comparing it all of the traditional systems in existence.
The event ended with few words from Mr. Earl Joseph M Borgoña, the Associate Dean of FEU Makati. His message to students were to consider the Blockchain Technology as part of their research and have an open mind with this new revolutionary technology that is available to everyone.
Certificate of Appreciation was awarded to NEM Philippines Resource Speakers by FEU Manila and FEU Makati officials including Ms. Maey Perillo, MBA Coordinator/Asst. Program Head, Mr. Earl Joseph M. Borgoña, Associate Dean of FEU Makati, and Dr. Ramon Victor, a professor from FEU Manila.
As a result, Far Eastern University invited the NEM Philippines to have another Blockchain talk for their upcoming Research Forum which is designed for the undergraduate students.
In conclusion, NEM Philippines would like to thank Far Eastern University for having us to be a part of their 1st MBA Business and Research Forum and we would like to congratulate them for having a very successful event.
