TEDx Talk with LuxTag in Malaysia
10th of September 2017
Jeff McDonald, Vice President of the NEM Foundation, and Rene B., CEO of LuxTag, gave a TEDx Talk speech at the Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) in Seri Iskandar, located in the state of Perak, Malaysia.
The topic for the speakers was “Moonshot.” What is “Moonshot Thinking”? It is the combination of a huge problem, a radical solution to that problem, and the breakthrough technology that just might make that solution possible. The term “moonshot” derives from the Apollo 11 spaceflight project, which landed the first human on the moon in 1969. “Moonshot” may also reference the earlier phrase “shoot for the moon” meaning aim for a lofty target.
Jeff and Rene delivered their speech as a team on stage where they enhanced and complemented each other’s explanations. Both discussed the advancements of blockchain technology beyond financial applications; they expanded awareness of blockhain as a new kind of database to disrupt current logistic solutions and luxury item certificate solutions.
After the talk, Rene, Jeff and Julian answered additional questions from blockchain interested TEDx attendees mainly comprised of university students. They also were introduced to the NEM Mobile Wallet and were each gifted 25 XEM each.
Following this, in the evening the team attended the gala dinner on the universities campus where all the participants and organizers were, “thanked“ for their involvement.
In conclusion, the presentation video is going to be uploaded on the university’s website; a link to the video will also be included here as soon it is online.
