The ninth Abkhazo — Russian Business Economic Forum was held on October 12, 2018 in the city of Sukhum. It was the first round table meeting on information technologies and innovations, and the NEM Russia team presented unique projects for the Republic.

During the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the cultural and charitable foundation Fund Ashana and NEM. Within this framework, the foundation aims to find additional ways to raise funds for sick children in Abkhazia.

Digital currencies and blockchain technology provide new opportunities for the development of the charity industry. Support of cryptocurrencies will provide more opportunities for Fund Ashana to attract resources that will help to continue their work in many countries across the world.

Donations can be made directly through an English-language website specially created by Klim Geran, Head of NEM Russia (@klimgeran), for Fund Ashana. The site will soon be running and accessible at ashanakbf.io.

It is important to note that a collaboration of this kind is the first in the world, in which a blockchain company provides technical and informational support to a charitable foundation.

The Fund Ashana and the NEM team hope that this technology can facilitate additional fundraising in cryptocurrency donations to aid seriously ill children of Abkhazia and provide them better health and a brighter future.
