NEM led four (4) students of Beatty Secondary School to understand the power of blockchain technology from November 19–29 at BitTemple Singapore.

Over the course of two weeks, I’ve learnt what a blockchain is and how it works. The program was very fun and informative. Furthermore, this experience was incredibly beneficial for me and it also helped improve my presentation skills.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience and being able to work with my friends helped to make the program even more worth while. — Ethan Koh

Wilma Lapuz, NEM Singapore Volunteer Community Leader, began the program to learn the reasons why blockchain came to the scene in today’s world. On second and third day, they were walked through the NEM technology and gave them perspective on how blockchain can be used on the daily websites they are using. Basic coding and latching on NEM was taught by NEM Volunteer Tech Trainer. At the end first week, Mr. William Tan examined the students on how they understand the technology.

Through this work attachment program, I learnt a lot about blockchain and its uses. At first, I didn’t understand some features like apostille. Through their guidance, I managed to learn very quickly. — Javier Tan

Within onne week, the students fully understand NEM Nanowallet and made a video on how to use the different features of it. On their last day, they presented their use cases that can be adopted in Beatty Secondary School.

I really enjoyed this experience on blockchain. I came in with little understanding of blockchain and cryptocurrency. However, I learnt a lot about blockchain and know how NEM wallets work. I get to apply what I’ve learnt into real life situations and improve my presentation skills. Furthermore, this experience will be incredibly useful for me to enter the poly course that I want. Overall, I learnt new things and improved on what I already know. I’m really thankful for all the trainers that taught me everything about NEM and blockchain. — Alexander Wai

The best part of the program is they have learned how to communicate and get along not only with NEM Team but also with others who are in the co-working space of BitTemple. They got the chance too to meet Nicholas Watson ( Nicholas Watson — Head of Compliance Solutions of ProximaX), he shared the experience in the new career he started.

My work experience at NEM was when I first learned about Blockchain technology. Through the program, I learned about its many uses both for individual and corporate use and had a fun experience using all these features. I would describe my experience at NEM as Fun, Engaging and Informative. My favourite aspect about this work attachment was being able to learn in a friendly environment and working with my friends and trainers. — Selwyn Cheng
